TEXO is the largest commercial contractors association chapter in Texas and one of the largest affiliated with the national Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). Representing construction member companies who do more than $15B of work annually, TEXO and its members are critical to the economic growth and improvement of our area.

TEXO is the product of two former industry association chapters (ABC North Texas Chapter & AGC QUOIN Chapter) joining forces on January 1, 2009, to form a stronger, more unified industry association to represent the North & East Texas contractor and industry provider community.
TEXO is the largest commercial contractors association chapter in Texas and one of the largest chapters affiliated with either the national ABC and AGC. We serve a membership of more than 350 commercial contractors & industry professionals and are stewards of a budget of over $4 million.

TEXO members are unique in the fact that they are members of both of the two largest and most influential national construction industry associations in the world: the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). Via these national memberships, TEXO members have access to world-class industry communication and training; best practices relative to safety; insurance; cost-saving purchase programs helping them reduce costs on projects; and processes and services that assure construction owners a quality, safe, and cost effective project.
TEXO members can expect to receive bi-weekly electronic communications through TEXO’s ONSITE eNews – an email newsletter highlighting key TEXO news, government-related issues, and information about professional development opportunities, training activities, and upcoming events.
Members will also receive a printed biannual magazine and annual directory, both of which will also be available in digital form. Additionally, some information and resources can be accessed through the current TEXO website.
TEXO is here to help you develop the best employees, win and deliver work safely, and operate ethically and profitably for the betterment of our community through expert advocacy, professional training and education, networking opportunities, and workforce development programs.
TEXO has a full-time vice president of governmental affairs who focuses on representing industry issues at the local and state levels. He facilitates TEXO’s position on national issues, which includes coordinating TEXO’s opinions through the national ABC and AGC associations. TEXO members may become involved by volunteering for the association’s Government Affairs Committee and/or by donating to the TEXO PAC or Advocacy Fund.
TEXO Safety promotes and advocates a safe and healthy workplace by offering unparalleled onsite safety support, including: jobsite safety audits, safety training, and serving as an EHS resource for our members.
TEXO provides networking opportunities through a variety of happy hours and other events spread throughout the year and throughout Dallas-Fort Worth, including our annual Challenge Cup competition series. Our many different committees also provide a key source for building relationships amongst industry peers.
We are always working to enhance and improve existing networking opportunities for members, while striving to create new venues for membership relationship development.
TEXO provides opportunities for members to participate in TEXO Foundation, Young Constructors Council (YCC), and Executive Development Partners (EDP). We also offer a variety of opportunities for active community involvement, professional development and leadership training for member company employees, and involvement with other industry-related groups.

Association policies and strategies are established by a 26-member volunteer board of directors made up of 12 general contractors, 11 subcontractors, and 3 industry service suppliers. It is headed by a 5-member executive committee. See our Team & Board page for more information.
